Bored with the bland pizza base you have been having since ages? This flavourful fiesta will get you rid of all the monotony. The scone pizza crust has an outburst of flavours that will make you go head over heels. It’s just not tasty on the outside but also inside!

Dought

  • 225 gm flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 50 gm butter
  • 2 Tbsp chopped onions
  • 50 gm grated cheese
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50 ml curd
  • 2 Tbsp chopped onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • Assorted vegetables
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 100 gm mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp oregano

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and mustard.  Rub in the butter to form crumbs.  Stir in the cheese, onions, curd, egg and milk.  Mix well to make a smooth dough.  Pat out the dough into an 8-9″ roundel. Brush with oil.  Arrange the assorted vegetables and cheese on top of the roundel.  Drizzle a little oil and sprinkle chopped herbs.
  2. Bake at 220 degrees C for 15 minutes until the base is golden in colour and the cheese has melted.  Cut into wedges and serve hot.
